SORRY, NOT SORRY.
THINGS YOU SHOULD NEVER BE SORRY FOR.
A gesture of apology is undoubtedly one of the sweetest things ever, it brings people closer, brush off the misunderstandings and increase the love between two people. It is an expression of feeling guilty about something.
But excessive apologies or ‘My bad, I am sorry.’ can make you look like you’re lacking confidence and competence. Be sorry for the only things you think you owe an apology to.
Here are five things I am stating, that you should never be sorry for.
FOR HOW YOU LOOK
When you’re getting late for your class and you’re in a rush, you don’t have much time to set your hair or dress well. DON’T WORRY! Just don’t worry about your appearance. And if someone asks if you’re okay, kindly don’t feel sorry about your swollen eyes and messy hair, it’s all okay.
FOR A CLEAR REJECTION
Learn to say, No. If you think it’s not working for you or it’s not something you want or you don’t think it’s right for you, reject it clearly without being sorry. Like ‘ Thankyou for being concerned, but NO I am not interested.’
FOR THE WAY YOU ARE
You should never be sorry for the way you are. If you cannot reach to someone’s idea of perfection, that’s not your problem. Be proud of who you are . Stop chasing perfection, your imperfections are worth far more than that.
FOR THE MISTAKES YOU MADE
We have grown up listening to ‘ You learn from your mistakes’, but when it comes to real life, it’s not as easy as it sounds and people will judge you anyway for every mistake you did before. They’ll remind you of something you did 3 years back and make perceptions on that basis like “ Hey remember when you failed your maths exam, Are you still not good at it?” Don’t be sorry about your failures and for heaven’s sake, don’t regret it, for all that has happened was for your betterment and growth.
FOR STANDING WITH SOMETHING YOU BELIEVE IN
Everyone has a right to stand for something that they believe in. Everyone keeps a different mindset, takes things in a different manner, have different beliefs. If you think there’s something happening that shouldn’t be and nobody is supporting it, Stand for it without being sorry. Don’t just sit back and comment, rather support it, without feeling sorry for your beliefs.
